Maths
Our aim, when teaching Maths, is to make it more fun whilst building confidence and skills across the subject. Every student will need to learn and consolidate different skills, understanding what each question is asking them to do. A good grasp of comprehension will help with problem solving activities, which is why we assess both English and Maths in our free assessment.
English
Reading and writing are perhaps two of the essential skills of life. However, for many children this is a trying and confusing time where the anxiety and stress felt by the child also affects the parent. We try to put the fun back into the subject and build confidence in reading, writing, spelling and comprehension. We concentrate on phonics, spelling, punctuation, grammar and vocabulary within our lessons, giving a wide range of activities on the computer, on paper or as a game.
Science
Our Science specialist provides bespoke tuition in GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics and we have a range of materials and resources for AQA, OCR and Edexcel exams.
We discuss the areas of study with the students during the free assessments, focussing on areas that they are confident with/ need a little extra help in. The 1-2-1 assessment and input provided means that the students get clear explanations and concepts can be broken down in a simple and straightforward way.
11+
The 11+ is an exam taken by some school pupils in Year 6 (either September or January, depending upon school they are applying to). Even though most of the children will still only be 10 years old when they sit the tests, they will be 11 when they start in Year 7, hence the term ‘11+’.
At Bolton Tuition Centre, we tutor the students for the English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning papers, and even offer 4 mock tests from October until January which helps the students with their exam technique and timing.
